This primer is specifically designed to equalize surface texture differences between sanded tape joints and new drywall, resulting in an extremely uniform finish coat appearance. Ideal for airless spray application. Use on wallboard and tape joints in new construction or remodeling projects. Provides an excellent base coat for latex or oil-based paints. Formulated for professional painter use in residential, commercial, institutional and industrial applications.

Usage

Ideal for new drywall. Apply to wallboard, drywall, tape joints, walls and under latex or oil-base paint.

PrepSurface should be clean, dry and dull. Glossy surfaces should be dulled. Thoroughly clean the surface and remove all dirt, dust, chalk, rust, grease, wax, mildew and peeling paint and allow to dry. See technical data page for additional surface prep.

ApplicationPaint only when surface and air temperatures are 50–90 °F (10 – 32 ºC). Use paint paddle or mixing blade to stir paint thoroughly, bringing pigments to the top of the can. Brush: Use a premium quality polyester brush. Roller: Use a premium quality polyester roller with 1/2 to ¾-inch nap. Airless Spray: Thinning is not usually necessary. Use 2000 PSI with a 0.015 to 0.021 tip. For airless spray, thin with up to 8 ounces of water per gallon – only if paint is too thick for sprayer.
